The world is currently confronting unprecedented challenges stemming from climate change, resource depletion, environmental degradation, and unsustainable patterns of production and consumption. Addressing these issues with urgency at a global scale is essential to safeguarding the planet and ensuring long-term societal well-being. In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs) and India’s National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC), significant efforts are being undertaken by governments, industries, academic institutions, and civil society to promote sustainability and environmental practices.
Recognizing the critical need for coordinated action, innovation, and capacity-building, D. Y. Patil International University (DYPIU) has established the Centre for Climate Resilience, Water Innovation & Green Solutions. This Centre serves as an interdisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing sustainability education, fostering cutting-edge research, and promoting impactful industry collaborations. It aims to integrate sustainability principles across all dimensions of academia—curriculum, research, campus operations, and community engagement—thereby cultivating responsible future leaders equipped to address global sustainability challenges.
The Centre focuses on key thematic areas including climate change mitigation and adaptation, water conservation and innovation, sustainable technologies, circular economy practices, waste management solutions, and green campus initiatives. By driving collaborative projects, nurturing innovation, developing policy insights, and encouraging eco-friendly practices, the Centre aspires to contribute meaningfully to building a climate-resilient and sustainable future.
